Close to a thousand people rallied at the Idaho Capitol over the weekend in support of DACA, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program that has protected “dreamers” – those brought to the United States as small children by undocumented parents – from deportation, while allowing them to work, obtain driver’s licenses and attend school. President Trump last week announced that the program will end in six months unless Congress passes new legislation on it; 10 states, including Idaho, had threatened to sue the federal government if the program wasn’t terminated.
